Jack O’Keeffe to represent Ireland at WorldSkills in China

Kerry Mechanical Engineering is delighted to share the outstanding achievement of Jack O’Keeffe, our fourth-year Mechanical Fitter Apprentice, who has brought national recognition to both himself and our team. Jack competed at the WorldSkills Ireland National Competition Final last week, showcasing exceptional talent, precision and composure under pressure.

The competition is designed to test the very best young tradespeople in the country, challenging their technical ability, problem-solving and attention to detail across multiple engineering disciplines. Jack’s performance stood out among the country’s top apprentices, as he kept his cool under the heat of the competition and emerged with a well-earned victory.

This success now propels Jack onto the global stage. He has been selected to represent Ireland at the WorldSkills International Competition in China next year, where he will compete against the most skilled apprentices from around the world. It is a moment of pride not only for Jack but for Kerry Mechanical Engineering, highlighting the standard of training, support and real-world experience that our apprentices receive.

We are proud to support Jack on his journey and wish him every success as he takes on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. His achievement reflects the strength of Irish engineering and the future of our industry.
